Not all candles in today’s market are healthy. There are plenty of candles that look and smell pretty, but many are not safe because they are made with paraffin wax that is made using petroleum, which is toxic to inhale. Other candle companies use paraffin wax because it’s inexpensive, gives candles a vibrant color and leaves little if any imperfections. Some candle manufacturers claim that they make their candles using a soy blend. A soy blend in many cases is created by simply adding a soy-based product such as vegetable oil to paraffin wax, you then have a soy blend candle. If the candle label doesn’t read “made with soy wax” then most likely it’s not a soy wax candle. At The Candle And Crate Company, we create beautiful candles that deliver amazing scents, while using natural beeswax and soy wax. There are no toxins in our candles and all of our fragrances have been approved by the International Fragrance Association (IFRA). All of our candles are made individually, by hand in the United States. We don’t sell assembly line candles made in a factory. Because we use all-natural wax there are some small imperfections you might notice like frosting appearance in small spots due to the use of soy wax, or hairline cracks on the surface from the beeswax. Beeswax is a hard wax with a high melting point which is perfect if you live in a warm or hot climate. Beeswax is also the original candle wax used since ancient times.
